Poppies was born from a simple idea — a place named after their daughter, where every guest feels like family. Damien and Zoey opened the doors on Little Stanley Street with one goal: to create the kind of neighbourhood restaurant they always wished existed. Somewhere warm, unhurried, and genuinely good.
Today, Poppies is Southbank's go-to for all-day brunch, long lunches, and easy evenings — from Allpress specialty coffee at sunrise to signature cocktails long after dark. The food is honest, the welcome is genuine, and the table is always yours.
Our alfresco seating spills out onto Little Stanley Street — open-air dining in the heart of South Bank, whether you're after a lazy weekend brunch, food and drinks before a show at QPAC, or just somewhere to sit outside with a properly made cocktail.
